Speech pathology department sets open house, continues reaccreditation

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology will hold an open house for prospective graduate students from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, April 1, in 4010 College of Health and Human Services Building, 1240 Oliver St.

The open house is part of the department's periodic events for prospective graduate students and follows on the heels of a March 28 meeting to allow for public comment related to reaccrediting departmental programs.

Those attending the open house will hear a brief welcome by Dr. Linda Shuster, interim chair of the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology, at 12:45 p.m. and are invited to attend informational breakout sessions from 1 to 2:05 p.m. so they can learn about WMU's program offerings as well as its research and clinical practicum opportunities.

Reaccreditation

WMU's speech-language pathology and audiology programs are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

During 2016, the programs are undergoing a reaccreditation review and site visit.
