'Book of Mormon' to anchor Miller Auditorium's 2016-17 PNC Broadway series

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium has announced its 2016-17 lineup, which includes performances of "Book of Mormon," "Dirty Dancing" and "Rent."

Available now, season subscriptions are the best way to receive discounted tickets and priority seating. Renewing PNC Broadway in West Michigan subscribers receive first opportunity to keep their existing seats and to add seats to 2016-17 Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series events as they are announced.

2016-17 PNC Broadway in West Michigan Series

  • "Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage"
    Oct. 1-2—The record-breaking live theatre sensation features the hit songs, "Hungry Eyes," "Hey Baby," "Do You Love Me?" and "(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life" as well as sensational dance performances.
  • "Book of Mormon"
    Oct. 18-23—The New York Times calls it "The best musical of this century!" The musical, a nine-time Tony Award winner, contains explicit language. To learn more about the musical, visit bookofmormonthemusical.com.
  • "Rent: 20th Anniversary Tour"
    Nov. 11-13—In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s "Rent" continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. A celebration of friendship and creativity, "Rent" follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out.
  • "Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella"
    March 24-26, 2017—The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of "The Sound of Music" and "South Pacific" delights audiences with its contemporary take on the classic tale. The musical features some of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including "In My Own Little Corner," "Impossible/It’s Possible" and "Ten Minutes Ago."
  • "Motown the Musical"
    May 9-14, 2017—It began as one man's story, became everyone's music, and is now Broadway's musical. The true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Smokey Robinson features classic songs including "My Girl" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

Miller Auditorium’s 2016-17 Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series events will be announced at a later date, along with single ticket on sale dates.

Looking forward to the 2017-18 season, Disney's "The Lion King" is slated to come to Miller Auditorium as part of its 50th anniversary year.
