The active phase of the giving campaign is underway.

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Broncos4Broncos annual campaign is again encouraging Western Michigan University's faculty and staff members to make gifts to one of the University's more than 1,800 funds and scholarships.

All gifts are tax-deductible, and 100 percent of the money donated goes to the areas designated.

"Every gift makes a difference," says Karen Pinkham, campaign coordinator in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. "Even small gifts, when multiplied by many, show support and make a significant impact on our campus and in the lives of our students."

About the campaign

Broncos4Broncos is an annual fiscal-year campaign that runs from July 1 through June 30. For the second time, officials are holding an active phase to help draw attention to the effort. Pinkham says this year's Feb. 15 through April 15 active phase allows development and alumni relations office representatives to visit numerous campus units to personally share information and answer questions about the campaign.

The 2015-16 campaign carries the theme "For the Love of Western." It officially kicked off its active phase during a Feb. 5 event in Heritage Hall. Employees enjoyed appetizers, beverages and numerous prize drawings over the course of the two-hour event.

One of this year's highlighted giving options is the Invisible Need Project, which includes a student food pantry, student emergency fund and student health-emergency fund.

The project serves students with unmet needs and strengthens the culture of giving at WMU. To that end, more than 100 canned goods were collected at the kick-off event. To donate or learn more, visit mywmu.com/invisibleneed.
