WMU jazz ensembles present 'Jazz for the Holidays'

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University’s best jazz groups will perform classic holiday tunes with a twist during the "Jazz for the Holidays" program, set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in Miller Auditorium.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for seniors and $5 for students, and are available from Miller Auditorium online or by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858. Proceeds from ticket sales will be applied to scholarships for music students.

The program will feature works by Duke Ellington and Vince Guaraldi, Christmas classics like "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night" and a special holiday sing-along.

Many performers will take part in the show, including the University Jazz Orchestra, University Jazz Lab Band and Advanced Jazz Ensemble; WMU faculty members Keith Hall, Tom Knific, Andrew Rathbun and Jeremy Siskind; and the world-famous Gold Company, as well as some special surprises.
