Shirley C. Woodworth obituary

Dr. Shirley C. Woodworth, WMU associate professor emerita of communication, died Thursday, Feb. 26. A visitation and funeral will be held March 13 and 14.

Judith Peppel obituary

Judith Peppel, a former WMU staff member, died Dec. 30, 2014 in Kalamazoo at age 74. Peppel worked in the Department of Sociology at the time of her retirement in 2005.

University Theatre presents 'Charlotte's Web'

The all-student cast will give several afternoon and evening performances of the beloved children's classic March 20-29 in the Shaw Theatre at the Gilmore Theatre Complex.

Marjory Spradling obituary

Marjory Spradling, assistant professor emerita of biological sciences, died Feb. 12 at age 92. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the People's Church in Kalamazoo.

Annual student comedy competition coming up

The 11th annual Last Bronco Standing student comedy competition is set for 9 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Little Theatre. Admission is $1 with a valid student Bronco Card, and $2 without.

WMU professor recognized for gender-focused research

Dr. Jennifer Machiorlatti is the recipient of the University's annual Gender Scholar Award. The award recognizes contributions advancing knowledge in an area of research that has a gender focus.

Center for Disability Services awarded accreditation

WMU's Center for Disability Services has been accredited for the maximum period of three years for its community integration, service coordination, supported living and adult day service programs by CARF International.
