KALAMAZOO—Western Michigan University faculty and staff members who give any amount to the 2013 campus United Way campaign will be eligible for weekly drawings to be held each Friday afternoon beginning this week. Six drawings will take place:
- Friday, Oct. 11
- Friday, Oct. 18
- Friday, Oct. 25
- Friday, Nov. 1
- Friday, Nov. 8
- Friday, Nov. 15
Names of eligible contributors whose pledge cards are returned to the president's office, mail stop 5202, by 5 p.m. the Thursday before each drawing will be included. Eligibility is cumulative, so those eligible for the first drawing will continue to be eligible for subsequent drawings. There is a limit of one weekly prize per person. Once a person wins a weekly prize, they will be ineligible for subsequent weekly drawings.
Each week, several prizes will be awarded:
- Two tickets to a home football game
- Two tickets to a home women's basketball game
- Two tickets to a home men's basketball game
- $25 off certificate for Miller Auditorium tickets during the 2013-14 season
- $20 gift card to any Millennium restaurant
Additional opportunities to win will be available for the Oct. 25 drawing including two tickets for the President's Box for the WMU vs. Central Michigan University football game Saturday, Nov. 16; and for the Nov. 1 drawing, a 2013-14 Bronco Plan booklet that contains 10 coupons for tickets to various home athletic events.
Grand-prize drawings will be held Friday, Nov. 15, in addition to the drawing for the regular weekly prizes.
All WMU faculty and staff members who contribute to the campaign and whose pledge cards are received in the president's office by 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, will be entered into the grand-prize drawing of a $100 gift card to any Millennium restaurant or an oar signed by Head Football Coach P.J. Fleck. This includes all previous prizewinners.
The campus United Way campaign to date has collected pledges totaling nearly 30 percent of its $300,000 goal.
WMU United Way Advisory Board members are not eligible for the weekly drawings or the grand-prize drawing.
