Welcome home returning soldiers Saturday

Soldiers return Saturday, March 9.

KALAMAZOO—Soldiers in the 507th Engineer Battalion of the Michigan Army National Guard, including several Western Michigan University ROTC alumni, will return to Kalamazoo from Afghanistan Saturday, March 9. Community members are encouraged to greet them at 3:30 p.m. at Portage Central High School.

Lt. Col. Bill Myer, battalion commander of the 507th Engineer Battalion, and Maj. Gen. Gregory J. Vadnais will speak. The national anthem will be sung by Chief Warrant Officer 5 Rhea Pruett. Several other elected officials are invited to attend.

The service members will arrive at 2 p.m. at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Mich.
