New York novelist to read as part of Gwen Frostic Series

KALAMAZOO—A New York author of both fiction and nonfiction will be featured in the final installment of the fall 2012 Gwen Frostic Reading Series next month at Western Michigan University.

Emma Straub will read at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in 157-159 Bernhard Center. The reading is free and open to the public.

Straub's first novel, "Laura Lamont's Life in Pictures," was published by Riverhead Books in September 2012. Her debut story collection, "Other People We Married," arrived in February 2012, also published by Riverhead Books.

Straub's fiction and nonfiction have been published by Tin House, The Paris Review Daily, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Time, Slate, Cousin Corinne's Reminder and many other journals. She is a staff writer for Rookie.

Straub lives in Brooklyn with her husband.
