Graduate Teaching Assistantship Application

The Department of Mathematics at Western Michigan University accepts applications for teaching assistants who will work 20 hours per week and enroll for six to nine hours of coursework per semester.

Fellowships or doctoral associateship forms can be obtained from the Graduate College. The deadline is Feb. 15.

When applying for an assistantship:

General information
WMU identification number
Write a statement about your reasons for desiring this graduate degree.
Background information
List institutions, dates and subject/degree
List title, year and grade
List honors, scholarships and fellowships received.
List employer, dates and job description
References
Ask three persons who are familiar with your academic achievements and personal qualities to send letters of recommendations. At least two of these people should be familiar with your work in mathematics, mathematics education or statistics. If your interest is in pursuing the Ph.D. degree, your letters of recommendation should include a statement related to your ability and intent to complete the doctoral degree.
List name, address, phone and email for each reference. Upload any reference letters you have received.
