Mapping and GIS Services

We can help you create maps and graphics to include in publications, dissertations and theses, or other research and teaching projects. This free service is available to all Western Michigan University faculty, staff and students.

Service details

Using a geographic information system (GIS), our map specialist will work with you to figure out the best way to analyze and visualize your geospatial data.

You can also find computer workstations at Waldo Library equipped with mapping and geospatial software:

  • QGIS—Available on all PC workstations.
  • ArcMap—Available at the five engineering computer workstations on the second floor and nine PCs in Room 0152 on the lower level.
  • ArcGIS Pro—Available at two workstations on the third floor in the Graduate Student Commons (LIB-WAL-3-GRAD5 and LIB-WAL-3-GRAD6).
