How to sign up

Returning residents

Students returning to the residence halls for another year sign up starting in January. When you sign up depends on what type of room and where you want to live.

Housing contract

The housing contract is for a full academic year, meaning fall and spring semesters. Summer housing options are also available.

Please be aware that you are entering into a legally binding contract with the University. Upon signing this contract, you (and your parent(s) or guardian if you are under the legal age of 18) become responsible for all the terms and financial obligations of your contract until the end of the spring semester. Please contact the Residence Life office at (269) 387-4735 or rl-info@wmich.edu with questions.

Students who do not return spring semester due to graduation, student teaching, studying abroad or leaving the university are not financially responsible for spring semester.

Room assignments are sent to your WMU email account in early June. Roommate information is emailed in late July. You may view your contract and assignment status at any time via the “Residence Life Housing” link in My Self Service on GoWMU.
