The Lee Honors College Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence

Logo for the 50th anniversary of the Lee Honors College. An honors college was established at WMU during the academic year of 1962 to 1963 and renamed the Carl and Winifred Lee Honors College in 1990. It is my privilege to serve as the college's sixth dean and to be serving in this role as we approach the college's 50th anniversary. To commemorate this important milestone, we are planning a series of events during the fall 2012 and winter 2013 semesters. More information regarding those events will be forthcoming.

Over the last several months a team of researchers has been working to reconstruct the remarkable history of the college. Now your help is needed. To those of you who have taught, worked and/or served in some capacity in or for the college, we want to hear from you. Your memories and stories will enliven the archival record and provide us with a much richer narrative to share with alumni, donors, faculty, staff and friends. Any memorabilia that you have will be especially welcome.

If you have something to contribute to the celebration or simply wish to stay informed of events, please send your contact information to and a member of our anniversary team will follow up.

Thank you very much,
Nicholas A. Andreadis M.D.
