On March 9 and 10, Western Michigan University's College of Health and Human Services, host site for the Western Regional Area Health Education Center, welcomed 70 high school students from the Calhoun Area Career Center's health programs for the CHHS Immersion Days.

Discovering oral health careers
High school students from three schools attended the Discover Oral Health Careers program hosted by the Kent County South Dental Clinic last December and March. This health career pipeline program introduces students to oral health career options through interactions with dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants and registered dietitians.
WMU’s Master of Public Health program and AHEC
Western Michigan University's master's degree in public health looks beyond the traditional definition of public health and seeks to encompass the ideas of physical, mental and social well-being. The program is also working with AHEC to develop community-based research.
