NCHA Survey

Congrats graphicYou may have received an invitation to participate in the American College Health Association - National College Health Association survey by email or postcard. This survey helps Sindecuse Health Center understand student health concerns and enhances our health promotion and education efforts. We encourage you to complete the survey in one sitting, which typically takes about 30 minutes. The survey will be open until April 15, 2015.Your participation is valuable and appreciated.

This survey has been approved by the Human Subjects Institutional Review Board at Western Michigan University. The HSIRB approval letter is posted for your inspection.

Who can participate in this study?
A sample of students, both undergraduate and graduate level, were randomly selected from an inclusive list of all currently registered WMU students. Only these selected students are eligible to participate.

What information is being measured during the study?
This survey includes questions about demographics, safety and violence, depression and suicide, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, sexual behavior, body weight and nutrition, physical activity, spiritual wellness, access to health information and health status.

What are the benefits of participating in this study?
You may benefit by knowing that you have assisted in providing accurate information regarding health behaviors on your campus. The information will be used to develop health programs and services for your campus.

Is there any compensation for participating in this study?
Sindecuse Health Center is providing incentives for students who participate. Prize winner names will be kept separate from their survey responses. All survey participants will be entered into a raffle for 10 prizes worth $50-$180. Winners will be contacted April 20-24, 2015.
