Bill Gillespie began his career 33 years ago as bagger for Jewel Osco in Chicago. While at Jewel, he held positions as store manager and regional manager before joining the merchandising and marketing department where he held positions across center store, fresh and pharmacy. During his last 11 years at Jewell, Gillespie served at SUPERVALU working across wholesale and retail. His final position was senior vice president of marketing and merchandising at the Save A Lot banner. Gillespie joined IBM in 2012 and has been working with grocers in 24 different countries in the area of the cognitive organization.
