Spencer Baird is senior vice president of merchandising at Peapod, a leading online grocer with more than 50 million orders delivered. He is responsible for Peadpod’s core merchandising, price, promotion, assortment, innovation and e-merchandising execution.

Before joining Peapod, Baird was the vice president of assortment strategy and merchandising support at Ahold Delhaize, the parent company of Peapod. He was part of the team that designed the omnichannel vision and plan that led to the invention of Peapod Digital Labs.

Baird began his career in sales and later worked as a business development manager at HJ Heinz Company before joining The Dannon Company, where he was the U.S. director for Walmart sales. In 2009, he joined the Kellogg Company, serving in several category management roles before being named vice president for U.S. category management in 2013 and vice president of global commercial strategy in 2015.

Baird is a member of the Advisory Council for Dairy Management Institute, Western Michigan Food Industry Advisory Board and the Fiduciary Committee for Ahold Delhaize USA. He was named a “Fast Fifteen” by Northwest Arkansas Business Journal in 2009 and a Consumer Goods Technology Magazine “Visionary” in 2006. Baird earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Virginia Wesleyan College and completed a Harvard Business School Executive Education program in 2015.
