Bio: 

Dr. Cavalli joined WMU in 2018 after 14 years as a faculty member, department chair and assistant/associate dean at the University of North Dakota.  In his role as Associate Dean, he oversees the CEAS STEP program and the CEAS Advising Office and helps coordinate undergraduate academic activities throughout CEAS.  As a professor of mechanical engineering, he teaches courses in the areas of materials science, composite materials, and solid mechanics.

Dr. Cavalli is a registered professional engineer in North Dakota and Michigan.  He is active in the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and regularly publishes in the areas of materials behavior, solid mechanics, and engineering education.
