2014 Conference Agenda

2014 Conference Sessions

We are pleased to offer several sessions this year that will focus on following areas:

New this year! Student Voice: Student lead conference sessions that flip it, change it rearrange it! Youth become the educators in these engaging and fact finding sessions.

Building Networks for Success
Teamwork makes the dream work. As students journey the K-20 pipeline they need leadership and guidance from a network of mentors.

Increasing Students’ Marketability
Students are often given information on how to sell themselves to employers. What we typically don’t discuss is how students can best be prepared to actively market their skills and experiences to successfully navigate the undergraduate and graduate admissions process.

Student Life Skills Development
Employers continue to share that young adults come to the workforce unprepared to work. They are technically skilled but missing critical life skills that negatively impact their ability to be efficacious in the job search and employment environment.

Strategies for Diversifying Your Program Funding and Sustainability
Creating sustainable funding for your program is important but it can take away time from serving the mission and vision of your organization or program.

High Quality Youth Programs
Don't miss the luminaries of the day: YOUTH! Research shows that high quality youth programs incorporate youth input at both activity and organizational levels. ‘New’ to the conference, we are pleased to provide a youth perspective and opportunity for you to listen to local teens share how you can best support, inspire, and motivate them as they journey 2college and beyond. We encourage you to experience the youth-led sessions. Be prepared to be entertained and enlightened.

Health and Wellness Expo
A Very Special Invitation Just for YOU! As you register for the conference, we invite you to network during the Welcome Reception and chat with our Health and Wellness experts from the Kalamazoo area. They will provide tips, strategies - and even some yummy treats – to help boost your health and wellness! Our Massage Therapists will surely help to work out last week's problems leaving you feeling refreshed and vibrant for Dinner Dine-Out's and Monday's events. See youSunday!
