Andrea Olsen at Middlebury College in Vermont originally made this piece for a series of outdoor dance performances of work. The dances were done in fall, winter, and spring around a pond with this piece overlooking the pond on a small rise. The gold leaf was added in 2000 as it was reworked to come to Western Michigan University.
