The implication of movement in a still sculpture intrigues me. The fact that certain compositions project the next movement that, due to the hard substance of sculpture, would never literally take place, creates in me a certain satisfaction. Within the minds eye, within the imagination, the next movement is then primed to take place.

Sprung is a piece where space and light are a large part of the design. For this reason steel was used, as the strength and immediacy of steel permits openness of form and allows light to enter interior spaces.
