Payment of your application fee

Be prepared to pay a nonrefundable application fee online by credit card ($50 for domestic applicants and $100 for international applicants). You will not be able to submit the form without paying online. Payments are processed by a secure server.


WMU may request additional documentation to verify an applicant's residency status. For more information, see residency policy.

Transcript requirements

An official transcript from all post-secondary institutions attended, except WMU, must be sent directly to Western Michigan University, Office of Admissions, 1903 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo MI 49008-5211 (or sent electronically to from the institution). Only official transcripts (issued within 30 days of the date received and sent directly to the Office of Admissions) are accepted. Hand carried transcripts will be accepted if in a sealed envelope from the institution.

Admission decision process

Your application will be considered fully complete after all official transcripts and required test scores are received. Final decisions are made by the academic departments, and the length of the admission process varies by department.

Note: All documents submitted become the property of Western Michigan University and cannot be returned to the applicant or released to other institutions.
