W-Exchange migration delay

Because of technical issues, faculty and students will not be migrated to the new W-Exchange email system this semester. A new schedule will be set once testing of the data migration methodology is completed. The Office of Information Technology will be working with its partners in the Faculty Senate Academic Information Technology Council and with the IT directors across campus on a revised schedule for all members of the WMU community. Work continues on the migration to the new W-Exchange email system. The Office of Information Technology has started to migrate early adoptors and expects to migrate newly admitted students and students taking classes during summer I first, then staff, then faculty. An exact timeline will not be determined until thorough testing of the vendor's migration methodology has been completed. In setting that schedule, OIT will be consulting with University leadership, the Faculty Senate Academic Information Technology Council, and the departmental IT directors, among others. Student email migration for Summer I students to begin May 1

Students who are enrolled in Summer I courses will have their email migrated from Webmail Plus to W-Exchange beginning May 1. An email will be sent three days prior to an individual's migration date. Migration for Summer I students should be completed by May 8 so coursework for the new semester is not impacted. A migration schedule for remaining students, faculty and staff is in development. UPDATE: Microsoft continues work to restore services which are affecting email delivery to those in the WMU community as well as various other customers also affected by the outage. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

We are currently experiencing delays when receiving email in W-Exchange. Microsoft is aware of the issue and working to resolve this. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Help Desk at 269-387-4357 option 1.
