Is that a campus phone number?
Posted by Gary Barton on October 1, 2018

Campus is starting to receive telemarketing calls from numbers that appear to be from WMU phone numbers. Caller ID can be altered to make automated calls or phishing calls appear to come from (269) 387-XXXX numbers. The practice of altering caller ID is called spoofing. "Neighbor spoofing" is when the number on the caller ID is similar to yours. Be careful when disclosing information on the phone, spoofing is often used to trick someone into disclosing private information.
