A security vulnerability in SSL 3.0 allows attacks when exploited. WMU has secured their servers, however is recommending that individual computer users secure all browsers they are using to browse to sites off campus. Information for doing so may be found at wmich.edu/helpdesk/disable-ssl3. Questions should be directed to your unit IT support person, or to the Help Desk at (269) 387-4357, if you do not have a unit IT support person.

Posted by Tony Hendrix on January 25, 2016

BeginningFeb. 2, the Office of Information Technology will be turning on auto upgrade of the Symantec Endpoint Protection for managed desktop and laptop computers installed from the GoWMU software downloads. This will automatically download and install the latest version of the software (Windows 32Bit and 64Bit machines only) and it will require a reboot of your system.

If you would like to upgrade sooner, so you may manage the system reboot, please login to GoWMU and download the Symantec Endpoint Protection from the Software Downloads area.

Computers with custom install package created by a unit IT support person, and computers that have already been updated will be excluded.
