There currently an issue with cable TV on campus causing it to be unavailable in several locations. Technicians are currently investigating the issue and working to resolve it.


Network Outage

Yesterday from 10:00am until approximately today at 1:30am, Western Michigan University experienced a campus-wide network outage. This interruption affected wired, wireless and VOIP phone connectivity, as well as on-campus and off-campus connectivity to various web services such as GoWMU, Elearning, and several other campus-hosted applications. Technicians worked diligently to restore service as quickly as possible. Questions regarding this outage can be directed to the Help Desk at (269) 387-4357. Questions regarding how this outage may impact your final exam, such as rescheduling or additional attempts, should be directed to your instructor.

Wmich.edu is currently unavailable. Technicians are aware and working to resolve the issue. We have had additional reports that wexchange.wmich.edu is currently unavailable as well. You can still access W-Exchange by logging into GoWMU and selecting W-Exchange. 


Monthly security updates installed April 21 and 22

Monthly security updates will be deployed on servers from 12:01 a.m. to noon on Sunday, April 21, and from 12:01 to 6 a.m. on Monday, April 22. This may affect Windows and Mac machines that utilize services on these servers. If you experience problems accessing your services Monday morning, you may need to reboot your machine. Please direct questions to the Help Desk at (269) 387-4357.


Mediasite Cloud Servers Maintenance Saturday, April 20

The Mediasite Cloud Team will be performing maintenance on Mediasite Cloud Servers during their scheduled maintenance window on Saturday, April 20 between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. This maintenance requires taking the environment offline, and as such Mediasite will not be available during this window.
