LEGENDS DRUM & BUGLE CORPS, Kalamazoo MI
Formed in 2001, The Legends program began as an indoor winter brass and percussion ensemble designed to give 8th thru 12th grade students the opportunity to perform challenging and exciting, original arrangements, and receive top level instruction from some of West Michigan's premier brass and percussion instructors. Summer 2006 marked the first "Summer Experience" season with the addition of colorguard to the ensemble and a performance tour of the Midwest. These performances included standstill exhibition appearances at selected Drum Corps International (DCI) Summer Games Tour events, July 4 Holiday parades, and a standstill concert at Chicago's Navy Pier. Summer 2007, Legends was approved as an exhibition unit of DCI and traveled 3000 miles across the Midwest making their drum and bugle corps inaugural debut. This 2008 season, the corps will travel to Canada and make its first appearance on the East Coast on a 5500 mile performance tour and has been granted DCI Open Class membership.
