
Western Michigan University invites applications for Director, Gender and Women’s Studies Program beginning August 2008, pending budgetary approval. This tenured faculty position will hold rank at the Associate or Full Professor in a department related to their discipline within the College of Arts and Sciences. Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D., have a national and/or international scholarly standing in Gender and Women’s Studies; administrative experience; a record of distinguished teaching and research; evidence of obtaining external funding; familiarity with important contemporary trends in women's studies ; a commitment to diversity; and the ability to work closely with other departments and units on campus. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has placed WMU among the 76 public institutions in the nation designated as research universities with high research activity.
