Entering and Transfer Students

Initial awards to full-time students with a declared major in Paper Science or Paper Engineering will amount to $2,000. Eligibility for students entering for the first semester is determined by high school core classes and ACT scores. A minimum ACT score of 24 for math and a composite score of 22 is required in order to receive a scholarship. These minimum ACT scores are required to make a student eligible for entering math classes which are necessary so that they can register for beginning paper courses. An alternative is that a student can satisfy these program qualifications by getting the prerequisites completed at a community college prior to starting at WMU or by passing the WMU math placement test.  Entering Students and new Transfer Students are encouraged to submit applications at the earliest possible date as awards are determined by the availability of funds.
