KALAMAZOO--"Luminesce," a runway fashion show featuring Western Michigan University student designers, takes place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19, in the East Ballroom of the University's Bernhard Center.

The two-day event includes shows at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with VIP receptions at 7 p.m. each evening. General admission tickets are being sold in advance for $10 and are $5 for WMU students with a valid Bronco Card. VIP tickets are $20, and include reserved front-row seating, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a gift bag.

To purchase tickets, visit modawmu.info or call (269) 532-6798.

A portion of the proceeds benefit the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, which provides food, shelter and assistance to people in financial need.

The "Luminesce" fashion show is sponsored by the Merchandising Opportunities Design Association, a registered student organization at WMU. Created and produced solely by students, the event is held in the fall and spring. Every aspect of production will be shown through student talent--from lighting and set design, to marketing and promotion, runway modeling, graphic design, and exquisitely crafted pieces from designers.
