KALAMAZOO--In a 90-minute presentation catered to students, the Yes Men's Mike Bonanno will discuss their continuing work Tuesday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University. The event is open to the public free of charge.

Bonanno will discuss the legendary hoaxes of the Yes Men, impersonating representatives of powerful corporations and government organizations such as ExxonMobil, McDonald's and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Their famed hoaxes include a fake announcement of the World Trade Organization's shifting its focus to help the poor.

Topics discussed by Bonanno will include journalism in a free society, truth versus perception in political theater, recognizing media spin versus good reporting, and good data collection research and analysis techniques.

Also appearing is climate activist Tim DeChristopher, who Disrupted a federal auction of oil and gas leases on public lands by bidding $1.8 million he didn't have on more than 22,000 acres of land. His action got the auction results thrown out long enough for the Obama administration to rule the process illegitimate.

The Yes Men at Miller Auditorium is presented by the Kalamazoo Peace Center, a registered student organization at Western Michigan University.
