WMU to offer master's degree in chemical engineeringJan. 3, 2011 KALAMAZOO--Acting during a Dec. 17, 2010, session, the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees approved the creation of a Master of Science in Engineering (Chemical) degree. The new degree addresses the needs of current students for advanced degree options, meets the need for engineers in local industry and helps build relationships between the University and the companies and scientists located in the WMU Business, Technology and Research Park. To complete the degree, students can choose either the thesis option, completing 24 credit hours of coursework and six credit hours of research, or the non-thesis option of 33 hours of coursework.
