Brass Celebration of Christmas returns to DaltonDec. 11, 2010 KALAMAZOO--The Western Brass Quintet will present its popular Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall at Western Michigan University. "A Brass Celebration of Christmas" features the Western Brass Quintet and an ensemble of students from the WMU School of Music. Members of the brass quintet include faculty members Scott Thornburg and Stephen Jones, trumpet; Lin Foulk, horn; Daniel Mattson, trombone; and Deanna Swoboda, tuba. Percussionist Judy Moonert, also a WMU music professor, will join the group for this performance. The program includes music for brass ensemble with selections from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The afternoon promises a festive mixture of traditional holiday music, brass classics and new favorites. General admission tickets are $15, $12 for seniors and $5 for students.
