Romance 'Cairo Time' debuts at Little TheatreOct. 29, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents the romantic drama "Cairo Time" Friday through Sunday, Nov. 5-7, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University. Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30, 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $5. "Cairo Time," starring Patricia Clarkson and Alexander Siddig, is the story of a woman's trip to an exotic country, and the journey she embarks upon while there--that to truly see and know herself. Juliette (Patricia Clarkson) is an American magazine editor who travels to Cairo to meet her diplomat husband in an attempt to reconnect and rekindle their romance. When a scheduling conflict prevents him from meeting her there, his former security officer, Tareq (Alexander Siddig), steps in as a surrogate. As Tareq guides Juliette through the beautiful but dangerous city, they experience the intimacy that had been missing from her marriage for many years. Written and directed by Ruba Nadda, the 2009 film is shown in English and Arabic with English subtitles. It has a run time of 90 minutes, and is rated PG for adult thematic elements and smoking.
