Faculty invited to review e-learning solutionsOct. 29, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University is completing its evaluation of learning management systems, generically called e-learning, with the expectation of implementing a new system during 2011. In April, WMU conducted a preliminary round of vendor demonstrations featuring four different products. Faculty members are invited to participate in the second round of product reviews Nov. 3-5, at which vendors will focus on how the systems can be used for teaching.
Feedback from attendees will be used in making the final decision about which system to recommend. WMU currently uses Blackboard Learning Systems: Vista Enterprise, commonly called Blackboard Vista, which is being phased out by the vendor.
