Students bringing comic relief to Miller

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students will present a free night of comic relief for the WMU community and general public at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in Miller Auditorium.

Called the Ques of Comedy, the show features performances by professional as well as WMU comedians. It will be followed by a comedy workshop and question-and-answer session with the comedians from 9 to 10 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Free tickets may be ordered at (269) 387-2300.

Ques of Comedy Performers

Joe Torry, a former host for HBO's "Def Comedy Jam" who has appeared in movies such as "House Party" and "Poetic Justice" as well as TV shows such as "E.R." and "N.Y.P.D. Blue."

Howie Bell, a regular on Jamie Foxx's LAFFAPALOOZA! festival on Comedy Central and BET's "Comic View" who has toured with P. Diddy Presents the Bad Boys of Comedy.

Alton "Boogie" Williams of "Def Comedy Jam" and "Motor City Step Show" fame.

WMU's Gad Holland, who performs at the Bernie's Comedy Club in the Bernhard Center.

Two additional WMU comedy club members.

WMU alumnus Willie "Scoot" Raby, will serve as master of ceremonies, and music will be provided by DJ Continental. The event sponsored by the Western Student Association, WMU Comedy Club and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
