William R. RosegrantAug. 16, 2010 William R. Rosegrant, associate professor emeritus of English at Western Michigan University, died Aug. 8. He was 91. A faculty member for 29 years, he retired in 1984. He was one of the first teachers at WMU to teach classes via television. A highlight of his career was traveling and teaching in the Philippines in the mid-1960s under a Fullbright Fellowship. Rosegrant was born in Glen Elder, Kan., and also taught American literature at the University of Denver, the former Oklahoma A&M, the University of Minnesota and the University of San Carolos in the Philippines. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Oct. 2, at 1:30 p.m. in People's Church, 1758 N. 10th St., Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
