Are you registered to vote in the primaries?

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University is again making voter information easier to find with a Web page aimed at increasing political participation among students and the general public.

The deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 3 primary elections is Tuesday, July 6. New registrations and changes in registration must be postmarked by the July 6 deadline. The voter information page provides information on registering to vote and online answers to questions such as, "Where do I vote?" and "How do I get an absentee ballot?"

Primary elections are being held throughout Michigan Tuesday, Aug. 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voter information provided at wmich.edu/vote is from the Michigan Secretary of State with links to more information.

  • Find out if you are already registered to vote at your current address.
  • If you're not already registered, find out how to register.
  • Find your precinct number and polling location.
  • View a sample of your ballot for the Aug. 3 election.
  • Find out if you're eligible to vote absentee.
  • Print a request for an absentee ballot.

You can speed the voting process by checking your sample ballot online, discussing issues and candidates with family and friends, and deciding how you'll vote before you go to the polls.

Exercise your right and responsibility as a citizen. Vote in Michigan's Aug. 3 primary elections.
