Travel back to the '80s with 'The Wedding Singer'
Oct. 15, 2009
KALAMAZOO--Travel back to the '80s with "The Wedding Singer" at Western Michigan University Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 20-21. Both shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Miller Auditorium.
Based on the hit film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, this musical comedy takes the audience back to a time when pastel was in, hair was big, and the wedding singer was the coolest guy in the room.
Wannabe rock star Robbie Hart makes his living as New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. But, after being left at the altar, he takes his bitterness out on stage, turning every wedding into a complete disaster. Things start to turn around for Robbie after a charming waitress named Julia captures his affections. When he finds out that the girl of his dreams is engaged to a successful Wall Street broker, Robbie will have to pull off the performance of a lifetime, or risk losing everything.
Part of the Broadway in West Michigan Series, "The Wedding Singer" at Miller Auditorium is sponsored by WKFR 103.3 FM and WWMT Newschannel 3.
