Research competition offers cash prizes

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students are encouraged to submit their analyses on the roles various societal influences will have on the future of civilization to qualify for cash prizes for best paper.
Submissions are due Tuesday, March 31, for the WMU Student Competition for the Best Award/Art on Civilization competition. Organized by the University and the International Society for the Comparative Study of Civilizations, the competition aims to increase students' awareness of developments in civilization during a time of change and crisis and inspire them to research critical issues of society.
Up to 100 students will be identified as future leaders who make wise decisions to benefit society. Awards will be presented for the top three papers from each supporting college and carry with them a cash award of $250 for first prize, $150 for second prize and $100 for third prize.
