Reception for Detroit-area alumni

Oct. 30, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, MICH.--Western Michigan University will hold a reception for its Southeast Michigan alumni from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Townsend Hotel, 100 Townsend St., in Birmingham, Mich.

The event is being sponsored by the WMU Alumni Association and is part of a week-long series of activities the University has planned in the Detroit area leading up to its football game against the University of Illinois at noon Saturday, Nov. 8, at Ford Field.

"The reception will feature University President John M. Dunn and other key administrators," says Hardy Figueroa, WMU associate director of alumni relations. "This will be a great opportunity for our graduates to get caught up on what's been happening in their academic colleges and programs, and to learn firsthand about their alma mater's new and future initiatives."

Joining Dunn at the reception will be the executive director of the WMU Alumni Association and the deans of the Graduate College, Lee Honors College, Haworth College of Business, and colleges of Arts and Sciences, Aviation, Education, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Fine Arts, and Health and Human Services.

The event costs $10 and includes hors d'oeuvres. Those planning to attend must register in advance. Registrations can be made until the day of the event at wmualumni.com, or by contacting the WMU Alumni Association at alumni@wmich.edu or (269) 387-8777.
