Services announced for longtime religion professorOct. 20, 2008 KALAMAZOO--A campus-wide memorial service has been set for Dr. David Ede, a longtime Western Michigan University professor of comparative religion and chair of the department. The service will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. It will open with a memorial program from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a wine-and-cheese reception from 4 to 5 p.m. The service is being coordinated through Yumi Takahashi-Ede, the WMU College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office and Department of Comparative Religion. Ede died Sept. 13 in Kalamazoo at the age of 73. He came to WMU in 1970 and was appointed to chair of comparative religion in June 2007.
