Sally Struthers stars in 'Nunsense' anniversary tour

Oct. 10, 2008

KALAMAZOO--Two-time Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers will perform as Mother Superior in the 25th anniversary tour of "Nunsense" at Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium for a single performance at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.

The zany "Nunsense" begins as the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, has accidentally poisoned 52 fellow sisters. Money must be raised immediately for burials, and the sisters decide the best way is to put on a variety show. Hence, the audience meets Reverend Mother Regina, a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo, a less-than-stellar ballerina; and the wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. Featuring star turns, tap, ballet, an audience quiz and comic surprises, this show has become an international phenomenon, boasting more than 5,000 productions worldwide in more than 21 languages.

Tickets for the "Nunsense" 25th anniversary tour at Miller Auditorium are on sale now and range from $25 to $50. They are available by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, online at millerauditorium.com, or by visiting the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office or Epic Center Box Office in downtown Kalamazoo. Groups of 20 or more should call (269) 387-2312 for special discounts.
