Heath Ledger appears as Bob Dylan at Little Theatre

March 25, 2008

KALAMAZOO--The Western Film Society presents the area debut of "I'm Not There," the chart-topping film about singer/songwriter Bob Dylan, Friday through Sunday, March 28-30, in Western Michigan University's Little Theatre.

Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7 and 10 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. General admission is $5 and $3 for students.

"I'm Not There" features the late Heath Ledger as well as Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Marcus Carl Franklin and Ben Whishaw. All six actors play interpretive characters that embody Dylan at various stages of his life. The film, directed by Todd Haynes, delivers a poetic narrative much like the famed musician's legendary songwriting.

The 2007 film was nominated for more than 20 awards, including an Oscar for Cate Blanchett's performance as a supporting actress. It is shown in English and has a run time of 135 minutes. It is rated R for offensive language, sexual content and nudity.

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the theatre.
