Workshops to help those with hearing loss

Sept. 10, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Now hear this.

A series of workshops aimed at better hearing is being offered beginning Sept. 18 at Western Michigan University's Charles Van Riper Language, Speech and Hearing Clinic.

The workshops will be especially beneficial for those who suffer from hearing loss that interferes with their ability to hear easily in classroom situations, meetings and other social events. The classes are designed to increase understanding of the effects of hearing loss, learn new strategies to improve communication and explore new hearing aid technology. Both morning and evening sessions are available.

The clinic is located in the WMU Unified Clinics on the third floor of the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies building at 1000 Oakland Drive. For more information, call (269) 387-8047 or (269) 387-8062.
