Visitors urged to avoid I-94 in Kalamazoo
Aug. 2, 2007
KALAMAZOO--Visitors to Western Michigan University during
August for campus tours, summer camps and other activities are
urged to avoid I-94 through Kalamazoo and use alternate routes
from I-94 to the WMU main campus.
Major roadwork at the intersection of I-94 and U.S. 131 has
parts of that interchange closed, and slowdowns are predicted.
Traffic on I-94 through Kalamazoo will be reduced to one lane
at various times and locations through the summer and fall.
In addition to the construction on I-94, construction will
continue during August on West Main Street (M43) from
Drake Road west to the Kalamazoo County line. Travelers should
expect long delays on that section of West Main.
