Teacher Education Career Fair draws 140 school districts

April 11, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Job opportunities for teachers will be showcased during the 19th Annual Teacher Education Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the East Ballroom of the Bernhard Center on Western Michigan University's main campus in Kalamazoo.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is designed to recruit teachers for K-12 educational systems for the 2007-08 school year. More than 140 school districts will be participating in this year's fair.

Teaching candidates do not need to preregister. Students and others attending the event should be dressed in appropriate interview attire and bring a sufficient supply of resumes to distribute to employers.

Sponsors for 2007 include Enterprise rent-a-car, MEEMIC Insurance Company, and Career and Student Employment Services and the Office of the Dean of the College of Education at WMU. Volunteering to help out at the fair are members of such WMU groups as Drive Safe Kalamazoo, Kappa Delta Pi and the football team.

Helpful hints to prepare for the event and a complete listing of participating school districts are available in the Career and Student Employment Services office on the first floor of Ellsworth Hall and online at www.broncojobs.wmich.edu/events.
