Presidential candidate Bruce Shepard withdraws
April 9, 2007
KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University Trustee Ken Miller, chair of the University's Presidential Search Advisory Committee, announced this afternoon that Dr. Bruce Shepard, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, has withdrawn his name from consideration in the search for WMU's next president.
Miller says Shepard was an excellent candidate, and he was disappointed to learn of the decision, but the University still has three excellent candidates remaining.
Shepard was scheduled to visit Kalamazoo Tuesday through Thursday, April 10-12, and make a public presentation Wednesday, April 11, in the Bernhard Center.
