Special Olympics holding tournaments, health fair

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University and the Special Olympics of Michigan will team up Saturday, March 24, for annual basketball and bowling tournaments and a health fair targeted toward individuals with disabilities and their families and caregivers. SOMI athletes and teams from all over the state will participate.

For the basketball tournament, volunteers should meet at 8 a.m. and basketball athletes at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the WMU Student Recreation Center. Volunteers for the bowling tournament should meet at 8 a.m. and athletes at 9 a.m. at Holiday Lanes, 2747 S. 11th St., in Oshtemo. Both events begin at 10 a.m., and they are free and open to public spectators.

A health fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the WMU Student Recreation Center on the first floor indoor tennis courts.
