WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News ARDA and RDA research award applications dueMarch 3, 2007 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University is accepting internal applications for two 2007-08 award competitions that provide a series of development activities designed to facilitate the process of securing external funding for projects. The Advanced-Level Research Development Awards assist WMU faculty members in advancing their research and teaching/training plans. They are intended for mid-career or senior faculty who want to enhance their ability to seek external funding or reenter the grant arena. The Research Development Awards assist WMU professional and administrative staff members as well as faculty members in advancing their research plans. Support typically goes to early-career/pretenure faculty. As many as 20 RDAs may be made each year. Deans will notify eligible faculty members that they may apply for the ARDA and RDA competitions. Faculty members also may submit RDA applications on their own. Vice presidents will notify eligible staff members that they may apply for the RDA competition. Proposals for the two award competitions must be submitted to the dean or appropriate vice president no later than 5 p.m. Friday, March 16. Applications are due in the research vice president's office by 5 p.m. Friday, March 23. Awards will be announced April 1.
