Oct. 2, 2006
KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's student information system, Banner, will be down for a scheduled, major upgrade from 12:01 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, through 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10. GoWMU, the University's secure intranet portal, will be available throughout the upgrade, but several key online services, provided primarily or exclusively through GoWMU, will be unavailable.
Unavailable during the upgrade will be all self-service features for students, advisors and faculty normally accessed through the Academic Services, Payment and Account Information and Financial Aid channels on the GoWMU home tab.
Unaffected by the upgrade will be all public Web pages of WMU and all other services typically accessed through GoWMU, including WebCT Vista, WebCheck and ECS webmail.
Although some online services will not be available during the upgrade, the offices for admissions, financial aid, registrar, cashiering and accounts receivable will be open normal business hours to assist students.
The upgrade to Banner version 7.3 will provide users the most current and functional version of Banner available.
